Temporary and contract staffing employment was 2.2% higher than the same week last year.

The ASA Staffing Index four-week moving average held steady, remaining at a rounded figure of 94—a 10-year high for the same period. Staffing employment for the four weeks ending March 18 was 1.3% higher year-to-year.
The ASA Staffing Index is reported nine days after each workweek, making it a near real-time measure of staffing employment trends. ASA research shows that staffing employment is a coincident economic indicator.
